Combined Dip in DHDT with Distinction, Oral Health Educator
I started my career as a dental nurse back in 2003 where I was offered the position as Implant dental nurse working alongside Dr Ikram in Cleveleys. During this time I completed my NVQ level 3 in Dental Nursing and continued to do further training in Sedation and Implant nursing.
I enjoyed the role so much that I decided to further my career more and completed a qualification in Oral health Education; this enabled me to give advice to patients both on a one on one setting and in groups.
In 2009 Dr Ikram
contacted me and asked if I'd be interested in taking on a senior role in a
exciting new practice opening in Lytham. I jumped at the opportunity and worked
closely with Dr Ikram to create and expand his new practice both as a clinical
nurse and then taking on the more complex role of implementing new policies and
training. As much as I enjoyed my new role I felt that I wanted more
interaction with patients and to continue my studies so at the age of 27 I
embarked on a full time 27 month university degree in Dental Hygiene and
Therapy based at Liverpool University. I qualified in December 2012 and now enjoy my new clinical role as Dental Therapist. I see a range of patients and my main interests lie in periodontal disease and cosmetic fillings.
My weekends mainly consist of enjoying family days out with my Husband and 2 children Esme and Ethan.
I work at the Cleveleys practice on Monday and Thursday and Lytham on Tuesday.
